| | Seth MacFarlane is one of the sweetest people around. He writes and directs Family Guy. He also does the voices of Peter, Stewie, Brain, Quagmire, and Tom Tucker. He also writes and directs American Dad and does the voice of Stan. One thing I don't think most people know, that I just found out, is that he had a ticket to one of the flights on 9/11. He however was hung over and missed it. I think we know the moral of the story. I don't know what I would do without my Family Guy or American Dad. Just thought I would pass that interesting piece of information on. |

XPize - Here is an awesome little installer that makes XP look a lot better. It hacks the windows DLL and replaces icons, images, the log in screen, and more. It also comes with a screen saver and a wallpaper. It is free and has a custom setup where you can pick what it installs. Best of all, since it changes the DLL's, there is no program running in the background taking up system resources.
Credit Card Prank - Here is a site where a guy signs his credit card receipts in crazy ways and shows that no one ever verifies your signature. Many stories with pictures.
Microsoft Sound Remix - Here is a really random, yet cool remix (video) of the Microsoft Sound only using the sound recorded included with windows.
PokerVantage.com - For anyone that used PartyPoker, here is a tool that ties in with PartyPoker tells you odds, best hands, etc.
Create Your Own South Park Character - Here is a cool little flash tool where you can create your own South Park character. You can pick there hats, shirts, pants, hair, etc.
Have fun kids. Stay in school.

| | Unfortunately I was tormented by Hollywood's latest bowel movement, Be Cool. I saw the preview and thought it had potential. Usually I can see a preview and know right away when it is a worthless waist of time. However, they really pulled the wool over mine and the eyes of the other three people I went to see with. I thought, Vince Vaughn and Uma Thurman... how bad can it be? Jesus in heaven, it was bad. The entire time walking back to the car I tried to figure out a worse movie I've seen to make myself feel better about just sitting through Be Cool. I'm sure there is a worse movie out there somewhere, but I couldn't think of one at the time. That's how bad it is. What's so bad? There are about 60 characters. They all want to kill each other. No one knows why. The acting is sub-par. The plot is random. Except for Aerosmith, there is nothing in the movie worth watching. Basically, save your $7. It's that simple. Don't see Be Cool. |

| Reggie White
Sunday, Dec 26, 2004 6:39 PM
Sports
| Reggie White, one of the best defensive players in NFL history died today at the young age of 43. He played with the Green Bay Packers in the 1990's. He was on the Packers '96 super bowl team. He was voted to 13 consecutive Pro Bowls. It is truly a sad day. My prayers are with his family. Here is an excerpt from Packers.com about Reggie White:
A two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and ordained minister who was known as the "Minister of Defense," White played a total of 15 years with Philadelphia, Green Bay and Carolina. He retired in 2000 as the NFL's all-time leader in sacks with 198. The mark has since been passed by Bruce Smith.
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie called White "one of the greatest men ever to play the game of football."
"His legacy on and off the football field will never be forgotten," Lurie said in a statement.
Full story can be found here at Packers.com.

| Police Notice
Friday, Dec 24, 2004 7:35 PM
Funny
| Police Notice:
Police are warning all men who frequent clubs, parties, and local pubs to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink from any woman. Many females use a date rape drug on the market called "Beer" to target unsuspecting men. The drug is generally found in liquid form and is now available almost anywhere. It comes in bottles, cans, from taps, and in large "kegs". Beer is used by female sexual predators at parties and bars to persuade their male victims to go home and have sex with them.
Typically, a woman needs only to persuade a guy to consume a few units of Beer and then simply ask him home for no strings attached sex. Men are rendered helpless against this approach. After several beers, men will often succumb to desires to perform sexual acts on horrific looking women to whom they would never normally be attracted.
After drinking Beer, men often awaken with only hazy memories of exactly what happened feeling that "something bad" occurred. At other times, these unfortunate men are swindled out of their life's savings in a familiar scam known as "A Relationship". It has been reported that in extreme cases, the female may even be shrewd enough to entrap the unsuspecting male into a longer-term form of servitude and punishment referred to as "Marriage". Apparently, men are much more susceptible to this scam after beer is administered and sex is offered by the predatory females.
Please forward this warning to every male you know. If you fall victim to this insidious Beer and the predatory women administering it, there are male support groups with venues in every town where you can discuss the details of your shocking encounter in an open and frank manner with similarly affected, like-minded guys. For the support group nearest you just look up "Golf Courses" in the yellow pages. |

| Update: Well I had an attorney look at it and basically what it comes down to is they are being a bully and trying to stop everyone from using the world "Stealth". Since I have no goods or services and make no money what-so-ever on this site, I am not violating anything. I'm just going to not respond and see if anything happens. That might just be the end of it right there, but if not, you'll be the first to know about it.
Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't added anything to the site. I've been so incredibly busy. I barley have time to eat and sleep these days. School is going well though. I've found my way on to the news submit page of my site today after receiving a large legal document in the mail. Basically, what it comes down to is that some stupid company want me to cease and desist stealthmonkey.com because they feel that I don't have the right to use the world "Stealth" and I am infringing on their copyright. Well, needless to say, I'm having an attorney take a look at it on Tuesday. I'll take it to court if need because this is clearly full of shit. If after install Windows XP SP2, you can't make your "View Status Bar" setting stick, then open up your registry editor (regedit in the run dialog) and navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\
Add a new DWORD named "StatusBarOther" and set the value to 1.
All done, problem solved. Explorer will now have a status bar again! Rejoice! |

| I updated the site again with a new feature. Good for you, you can enjoy it now. If you head over here you'll see the newest addition, the Old Polls Results page. Now after I add new polls, anyone can go back and view the results from old polls.
There is a new poll over on the right, which if you have been paying attention means the last poll has moved to the Old Polls Results page, so check it out. You cannot vote on old polls, but you can view what was voted. The results from the last poll, which was on abortion, were exactly what I expected, but nevertheless still positive results. Due to the fact that most of the people that visit this site know me, most visitors have similar views as me, meaning that they are conservative, or at least against abortion. But of course, there were those random people that strolled in from other places. Or other people who do know me, but have a wrong opinion.
All in all, I just want to briefly touch on my thoughts about abortion. My vote was for against abortion unless it would mean the mother's life. For me it's all about preservation of life. I don't think that rape is a good enough reason. I've been told, "I can't think of anything sicker than making a woman carry the baby of the man the raped her." Well, I can. Stopping a living baby's heart. And don't try to tell me that the baby isn't really a baby until he or she is born. I'll leave it at that.
On a more light-hearted note, I have a new poll up. I'm not going to go into it. It's pretty self explanatory, at least I hope so. And finally, I'm actually planning on making another addition to my site soon, so check back! That about sums it up for now. I'm off. |

| The Last Samurai owns you. That is why it is the poll of the right. Because all that matters in life is watching The Last Samurai. To the person who voted "I saw it and disliked it," send me a post card from hell. To those of you who voted "I have not seen it but would like to," which was the majority as I suspected it would be, SEE THE MOVIE! It is currently guaranteed to be is stock at blockbuster. I guarantee that the few measly dollars you spend on renting this movie will not be wasted. What else could you possibly spend that money on? College? I'll save you some time and money... college won't help you. Don't go.
Back to the movie. Here is a really basic recap of what the best movie of all time is about: It takes place in 1876. Tom Cruise, who kicks ass, is playing a kick ass American Military guy. He goes over to train Japan's military. Through a course of events, he gets captured by the Samurai, the enemy of Japan's Imperial Army. Then a lot of sweet stuff happens and Tom Cruise does some major ass kicking. Basically what it comes down to is that you should watch it. Go rent, or better yet, buy The Last Samurai right now. Yes, leave where ever you are home, school, work and go the the store. "But SM, I'll get fired if I leave work!" It's ok, your crappy minimum wage job will never benefit you as much as watching The Last Samurai will. |

| As I'm sure you can see, on the right is a poll. I know that everyone loves a good old fashion poll, who doesn't want to speak their opinion? I'll try to keep it updated with interesting polls. I wrote the system myself, so if anyone notices any problems, it's probably a bug, so e-mail me and let me know. Also, I designed the poll system with some portability in mind, so I probably would actually be willing to give out of the source. If you are interested in that you can e-mail me. A third poll-related reason you can e-mail me for is to suggest a question for the poll. Have fun.
Also, on a side note, the site now defaults to showing the newest five articles on the site (notice the new category on the sidebar Newest). If you would like to read articles that are older, you can either view them through the categories or by clicking on the All category at the bottom of the category list on the sidebar.

| Internet Over Power Lines
Friday, Mar 19, 2004 8:05 PM
Useful Info
| Dial-up internet is now in the past. The number of broadband users in the US is now about equal with the number of dial-up users, and growing. Broadband internet is much faster. At its peak, dial-up reaches speeds on 56kbps (kilobits per second). Slow DSL checks in at 768kbps. Typical cable speeds are around 1500kbps. And now Comcast has doubled the speed of most of its users to 3000kbps. Fast? You bet. Expensive? That too. Comcast cable is $57.95 per month for non-Comcast customers.
There is one catch to all this that most people don't realize. The speeds listed above (768, 1500, and 3000) are the DOWNload speeds. The rate at which you modem can receive data from the internet. The rate at which you download web pages, images, music videos, etc. And that is only half of it. The other half is the UPload speed. The rate at which your modem can send data TO the internet. This comes into play when you are playing games online, when people are downloading things from you on a peer to peer network (Kazaa), and when you send e-mails with large file attachments. For normal internet use: Checking e-mail, talking on AIM, going to websites, the upload speed is practically irrelevant. It comes into play more with the things listed above (especially gaming). The upload speed of broadband is typically 1/10 of the speed of the upload speed. Typical upload speeds are 128kbps, 256kbps, and 384kbps. From the same service (Comcast) that you get blistering 3000kbps downloads, you only get an upload speed of 256kbps.
All of this could change in the not to distant future with a new technology called BPL (Broadband over Power Lines). Currently broadband runs across copper phone lines (DSL) or coaxial cables (Cable). Your house (or more specifically your neighborhood) needs to be able to handle high speeds to get broadband with the current technology. That is why many users are stuck on dial-up still. With BPL, you plug a modem into a power outlet (not a phone jack or a cable jack) and you have internet. Everyone has power, so this technology is being built off of something that already exists in everyone's home. With BPL, they are looking at speeds on par with some of the fastest residential speeds today - 3000kbps. The difference is that that is not only the download speed, but also the upload speed! This must be more expensive, right? Wrong. The estimated cost for the 3000kbps would be around $40.
With this new technology we are looking at providing internet over an existing commodity (power lines) that is fast (3000kbps up and down) for less ($40/mo) than you could ever find for that speed today. For more information on this, head on over to my source. Happy browsing.

| | I bought Rainbow Six 3 for Xbox about a week ago. If you have ever played another Rainbow Six game, you will feel right at home. You and your team run around and kill people, save hostages, and more. If you have a headset for Xbox, you can give commands to your team such as "Open, flash, and clear" and you team will do as they are told (assuming you spoke clearly so the AI engine could understand what you said). If you have Live you can also play online versus or with other people. That is the only multiplayer, only one player per Xbox, no split screen multiplayer. There are lots of weapons, great graphics, fun missions. It's over all a very good game. Only a few complains: sometimes stuff gets in your way and it is extremely frustrating. On one mission you save a hostage and then have to escort her. She runs in front of you and gets either shot or just generally in the way. Pain in the butt. I found it at Best Buy for $40 (ten dollars cheaper than it was when I previously looked). If you have Live then it is a must have. If you don't have live, it's still a great game. Check it out. |

| Well today is Valentines day. I'm sure the day is really cool for people who have a Valentine. I have never been that fortunate to have a girlfriend on Valentines day, so as far as I'm concerned, this holiday is stupid.
Anyway, not too much has been going on lately. Just a few small things to let you all know about. I got NFL Street for Xbox. It's a pretty sweet game. If you liked Blitz for 64, then you'll probably like this. It's similar to Blitz, but a little less crazy. There are no refs, no injures, and you play to a set number of points (no for an amount of time). In addition to normal football where you play other teams to win, you can also do challenges. Challenges are everything from 'Make a goal line stand against the Rams' to 'Successfully pitch the ball 6 times on your first play'. It really is a a nice change up, I just wish it had Live support.
Otherwise, the only other thing I want to through out there is this link to head on over to 3gupload.com. If you have a cell phone (that is supported on this site), then this is the sweetest thing ever. You can download backgrounds/screen saves, games, ring tones, and more. You give a one time (required) donation of $6 or more and you can download unlimited amounts of everything on the site. I got a number of ring tones and screen savers. It's definitely worth it, so check it out cell phone users.

| Sorry for the lack of posts, It's not that I've been busy or forgot about this site, its just that there is nothing interesting for me to post... until now.
Here in Minnesota I have Comcast's cable internet. Over the past few years I've been taken on a roller coaster ride of cable companies: RoadRunner, MediaOne, Attbi, and now Comcast. I've had my praises and complains about it all, but ever since the Comcast switch, I've been pretty happy. And well now I'm happier than ever.
I received an e-mail today from Comcast telling me to unplug the cable modem for 60 seconds and plug in back in for the new free speed upgrade. I did that and my speeds have doubled.
Downstream
1.5 Mbps => 3.0 Mbps
Upstream
128 kbps => 256 kbps
For anyone out there with Comcast, make sure you do this to get the speed increase. Any to anyone else out there no on cable, now's a great time to switch, it's better than ever. |

Reviews
| Well I went over to Best Buy yesterday and bought CSX (Counter-Strike for Xbox) and a headset for Live with my Christmas gift cards and money. I got a chance to try it out today. It's pretty cool. It's like CS meets Halo. It takes the maps, guns, and gameplay of CS and brings the to Xbox with Halo style controls. CSX is more arcadish than CS for PC but its alright. They got a lot of the maps ported over along with a number of maps just for CSX. It was pretty cool because after only about an hour and half after playing, I was already accused of having an aim-bot. At first I was going to ask how I would go about installing a cheat on my Xbox, but I figured there is no point in arguing with 13 year olds, so I let it fly. My handle for Xbox Live is StealthMonk. Hit me up on Live sometime. I also play Unreal Championship on Live sometimes. I have Wolfenstein too, but that game's multiplayer sucks after playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory on PC a bunch. So overall it's pretty cool. Get if it you have a Xbox and Live. If you already have it, let's play!

| | I've wanted to update the site, but I've been either too tired to too busy. Basically all of last week - since I last posted through Sunday night - I played Xbox. People came over, we linked up, played over Xbox Connect, etc. Very cool. Then reality hit this week. I do still have school, work, and those damn things call responsibilities - so I haven't been able to play Xbox much. So anyway, thats why I haven't updated the site - not cause I'm lazy (for once) - but because I was either playing Xbox or busy. That's basically what I've been up to this last week. I'm going to see the Packers vs Bears game on Sunday - so I'm excited. The semester is wrapping up. All that is left is the end of this week, next week, then finals week. I saw Pirates of the Caribbean last night on DVD. When I saw it in the theater, I said it would probably be the best movie of the year, and after seeing it again - it is the best to date. Matrix? What a joke. The only movie that will be able to rival (and probably beat it) will be Return of the King. That comes out on the 17th. :D That's about it for now. Peace. |

| | I decided to go out and get a Xbox the other day. I had been playing Halo and other stuff a bunch a lot lately and decided that now that Xbox Live is out, that it was time to finally fork out the money and get an Xbox. It came with two free games: Tetris and Star Wars: Clone Wars. Wow. I can see why they were given away. What pieces of shit. In the sorry excuse for a star wars games, you drive around in PSX-quality graphics and shoot lasers at each other. I played if for about 15 minutes and I don't plan to ever again, but enough complaining. I also bought Halo right off the bat. I've been doing almost nothing but playing that the past few days. I really love it. I practicing up so I can be good at multiplayer for we my friends and myself get together next time. I'm also hoping to get CSX for Christmas. Once I get a game for Xbox Live that is worth my time (CSX), I'll activate my 2 month trial subscription to Live. Well, that's about it for now. But if I am away from my computer more than normal, you know why. ;) |

I thought it really strayed off from the plot of the first one. Well just wait until you see the third one. It will redefine straying off. I still don't feel like I got closure. I mean, now what? That's just the end? Please. Part of me really wonders if the entire story was written out before any of the movies were made. I have a hard time believing that the script would have been approved with the kind of ending they through in there. On a better note, I loved the first and second Lord of the Rings. The final one comes out December 17th. Fire up for that. |

Misc
| | CSX - Counter-Strike for X-Box was released yesterday. It's designed for X-Box Live! users and from the reviews online, sounds pretty dang cool. I'm temped to get an X-Box, but I really could use a new computer more. So I'm planning to build a new computer in the next few months. I'll be sure to post if a build a new system. I also might be needing a car for next spring, so with money not growing on trees, I'm going to have to make choices. It looks like I might be going to a casino in a week or two. So maybe I'll win a jackpot and get all of the above! Who knows. ;) |

| For all of you people out there that like having a sore wrist - THIS ONE IS FOR YOU. I've known about it for a while, but never really told many people about it. There is this cool flash game out on the net. I don't think it has an official name, but it's basically The Castle Game. You clan click your little mouse to delight over here to play. The game is made by XGenStudios dot com. I'm not going to go into detail about it, but if you want to play it, head on over. You might want to read the FAQ before you play. Have fun.
UPDATE: Well, my final score is 187,200. 1656 casualties. See if you can beat that.
UPDATE 2: Well, one of my friends saw this and let me know that he played it for a week stright and ended up having over 100,000 casualties. So props to Jon.

| Internet == Truth No Longer?

Funny
| Everything on the internet is true... right?
Well, leave it to Netscape to finally destroy the age old rule that everything on the internet is true.
Apparently some losers who have nothing productive to do with their lives came to the conclusion that Minneapolis is the most fun city in the United States. For the full vat of blasphamy, head on over here.

| Play CS For Money

Computer Gaming
| If you play Counter-Strike, this is for you. Are you 18+ and want to play CS for money? Head on over to mercenarywars.runningmann.com and sign up. Right now, they are starting phase two of their beta testing. If all goes to plan, they hope to go live in about a month. Right now you can play with fake money to see if you like it. If you plan to check this out later when it goes live, it would be wise to drop by now. The input that the community gives during this next month will really shape how this whole system works. There are a variety of ways to play, and even some ways to get money with out playing. There are even contests where you can win free stuff. It's pretty cool. You know what this means for me? It's time to take up CS seriously again. Neat.

| | Another day in the National Football League has come to pass. The Vikings (then 6-2) went to San Diego to play the (then 1-7) Chargers. The Vikings ended up losing, allow the now 2-7 Charges to rack up 42 points. This loss separates the gap in the NFC north, allowing the Packers to climb within one win of Vikings in the NFC North division race if they can win at home against the Eagles on Monday Night Football. Go Packers! |
| Lair of the StealthMonkey v3 Launched

| Welcome to Lair of the StealthMonkey. If you are one of my faithful visitors, you will notice a... slight change. For almost about half of a year now I've been threatening to actually do a major update to the Lair. Now that I actually found a weekend with some time to kill, I've finally followed through with that.
This time for the Lair of the StealthMonkey v3, I rewrote it from scratch. It is now coded in XHTML 1.0 Strict. I redid the PHP side of the site completely now too. I can add, edit, and delete news on the fly. I can also dynamically add new categories. I can even update the Who is StealthMonkey? page in a matter of moments. What does this all mean for you? Two things. First, the site works perfecting in IE, Netscape, Mozilla, and Opera, allowing you to access the site in a variety of ways. If you are running an older version of one of these browsers and something looks out of wack, you can e-mail me a screenshot and what browser you are using, and I'll do my best to fix it. The second thing it means is that I will be more able and willing to update the site more often now.
You may notice that some things are not longer around. The polls, images, and a few other things are gone. As of right now, I don't see them coming back any time soon. They never were updated, and there is no point to have them then. The site is now basically condensed down into two pages. The main news page, which will contain everything from website news, to links and pictures, to media reviews and previews, to clowns. It is where I will condense all the content. The news is divided up into categories. The other page is the Who is StealthMonkey? page. For those of you who don't know me, that will let you know who I am and what I'm all about. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your stay at the Lair of the StealthMonkey. Check back soon, I plan to update this site every few days.
